One Year Anniversary trip to NorCal
0 Comments Published by joe July 17th, 2009 in Landscape, TravelCelebrate good times, C’mon! It’s our one year anniversary of being married on July 5th! We postponed our trip to last weekend and to celebrate we head toward the northern part of California. It was Julie’s only second time in that part of the country and so we thought it was a good time to do it while watching our wallets at the same time. To get to northern California, we went through Pacific Coast Hwy along the coast of beautiful California overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I had done this drive before but it was first for Julie and I feel like it’s something everybody should do it at least once in their lifetime. In my opinion, it’s the best stretch of road in America and I’ve driven through A LOT if not most of the American highway system, at least the major ones.
That drive took us most of the day to get to San Francisco. Here are my collage from our drive on PCH. I think I took most, if not all of the beautiful scenery on the hwy.

After getting to San Francisco, we spent a day doing the touristy stuff. San Francisco is one of the coolest cities in America and always enjoy just walking and taking photos of the beautiful city. It definitely has it’s own characteristic that makes San Francisco, well San Francisco. From their sourdough bread (something Julie was looking the most forward to) to their huge Chinatown to their beautiful city landscape with their Golden Gate Bridge and of course The Rock, Alcatraz.

And to finish off our trip, we headed to the world famous Napa Valley! It was my first experience while it was second time for Julie. The view was just incredible and definitely a piece of Tustin in America. We had our tour of Robert Mondavi Winery and experienced some high-quality wine! I must admit that we learned a lot about wine and wine-making since we’re both not real wine drinkers but it was worth the experience.
We chilled out in Sonoma’s small town before driving 7 hours back home to Orange County. That drive was a killer after a full day in Napa but we made it safe and thoroughly enjoyed our short but sweet first anniversary of our wonderful marriage. =) HAPPY ONE YEAR!!
I had the privilege of photographing the engagement shoot for my friends Edwin and Candice down in San Diego! I knew Edwin for more than 10 years now since our days in college. Candice and Edwin are couples who likes to have fun and truly enjoys each others company. Edwin originally from Maryland to Illinois and now in Orange County met Candice, the California girl, about three years ago and haven’t left each others side ever since.
I am honored to be photographing their wedding in few weeks and really excited for it! It will be my first official wedding and really get to see how good (or not so good) I will be. So stay tuned…. =)
You are more than welcome to leave comments of compliments or critique of my photos! =) I’m learning as I’m going along. Thanks!

Chef Julie’s “Dinner for 10″ – group cooking lesson
0 Comments Published by joe June 23rd, 2009 in EventSo as you may know, I have been blessed to be married to the best cook I personally know! I knew lots of great cooks in my days but none of them can actually say that they cook as a profession and call themselves as a chef. Well, I am very fortunate enough to be married to a chef and she not only loves to cook but teach it as well. She can talk and cook at the same time but not only that, she has the ability to explain herself so well that even I (if you knew me and how I absolutely don’t cook or know anything about cooking), am able to understand what she’s doing with her explanation.
I was able to experience her cooking and teaching ability first hand at our very first group cooking class called “Dinner for 10.” The idea is to bring group of 10 people who want to learn real cooking lessons from a culinary graduate with expertise in French, Italian and Asian-inspired cooking. It is like going to a cooking show on TV but it is more interactive and you can participate with your friends. The event is not only to learn but to have a feast with the food that was cooked and enjoy fellowship with one another. It’s pretty much a sweet dinner party with GREAT food and some cooking knowledge.
Everyone had a great time and definitely hoping to see them as well as new faces at our next event on Saturday, July 11th. Please feel free to contact me for more info =) These are some great images I captured during the event! Hope you enjoy!

This is second part of Kara’s photoshoot when we first visited her when she was only a month old. I am posting these today on the 13th because today is my brother’s 29th birthday. So wish him a happy birthday on his facebook. This is my gift to my brother and Sharon. Happy birthday Joel!
