I’m sorry for the long layover between previous posts. I’ve been extremely busy with different obligations and transitions at the moment which I will write about in another post, but until then….. Here’s Dinner for 10 – Simply Fancy French!
This was our general August group cooking class. As you can read from the title of this post, it was featuring French cooking and techniques. Julie went to French specialized culinary school and is trained in French technique which apparently is a fundamental technique in the culinary world. I never knew that until the class. One of the things I enjoy the most about these classes is that I’m a student without really being a student. I don’t really pay attention to exactly what’s going on but I do pick up techniques and facts here and there about the culinary world. But the best part is, of course, the delicious food and the interaction with our new group of friends!
I get the fun job of documenting the event and receive satisfaction in seeing people enjoy themselves as they learn to cook and receive the reward of the awesome food they just help prepare! The experience of this class is not over until you enjoy the community of the old and new friends as you eat!

we had a full house! and then some =)

he was the studious one, as you can tell.

the recipe – all of Chef Julie’s original recipe

the making of crepes!

She wanted a sneak peak of the action in the pot. We need to invest in a overhead camera! uhhh… any investors out there?? =)
I try to capture moments that reflect the characteristics of the event. This is another Dinner for 10 event that my wife hosted at our place. This is a private cooking lesson with a group of Easter’s friends that she personally arranged. It was a great event and everyone had a great time! Everyone came out of it with little bit of more knowledge of cooking skills and of course a full and satisfied stomach. Once again, everyone got involved and participated with the outcome of the meal. It was awesome to have a great dinner party where everyone just chilled out afterward and just hung out with bunch of friends! It was such a great night! What more can you ask for?

The first group of photos emphases, it’s always about the people first!

Secondly, great food always brings the people together!
At our church, Church of Southland, we started summer classes featuring professional at their respected professions to do classes for our congregations to be educated in different fields of their interests. There are cooking classes, photography classes, and financial classes. Julie had the opportunity to display her culinary talent in doing her own class for the church. It was entitled “Simply Summer Fresh.” You can click to her blog to get more details of the class.
Being the supportive husband that I am =), I went to support my wife and also take photos of the class and of course the delicious food being made. Here are my perspective of the class and the food of that fun night!

the use of fresh ingredients

let it burn!

love the colors of the sandwich!

my little stickman! this was garbage of the twigs of the tomatoes but to me, it’s art!

it was sooooooo good!

all in action.

a place where I’d thought I would never spend so much time in.. only a chef can make that happen but at least I’m in there with a camera! =)
